College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

The College-Level Examination Program® (CLEP) helps you receive college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. Developed by the College Board, CLEP is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program. Earn qualifying scores on any of the 33 introductory-level college subject examinations and accelerate your education. Each 90-minute exam is $85.

DANTES Subject Standardized Test Program (DSST)

DANTES Subject Standardized Test Program (DSST) is a series of more than 30 exams that allow you to earn credit for upper-level as well as introductory college courses.  These exams can help accelerate your path to degree completion.  Macomb Community College currently administers all DSST examinations; however, credit is only granted at Macomb for a limited number of tests.

Proctored Examinations

The Learning Center at Macomb’s South Campus provides test proctoring services for non-Macomb students, charging a $25 fee for each examination (subject to change). Proctored exams can be in paper/pencil or computer-generated. Electronic equipment (cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc.) are not allowed in the testing room. A locker will be provided to store personal items. All testing regulations from the outside institution also apply.

Arrangements for proctored examinations must be made in advance and scheduled during the Learning Centers’ regular hours of operation. Please allow enough time when you schedule for the proctored exam to be returned by the deadline.

Photo identification with signature (e.g. driver’s license, passport, military ID) is required for all tests administered by the Learning Centers.
