General Information
Who Can Get A Library Card?
If you fit into any of the categories below, you may obtain a library card and borrow items directly from the Macomb College Library.
- Current students, faculty or staff of Macomb Community College can borrow up to ten items.
- Macomb County residents can borrow up to three items.
- Students at other academic libraries that participate in SEMLOL can borrow up to three items.
- Users from MILibraryCard Libraries can borrow up to three items.
How Can I Get My Library Card?
You may obtain a library card by visiting the front Library Services Desk at either campus library. You must have a driver's license or state I.D. card as proof of identification.
If you are a current student using a Macomb OneCard, you may activate the library card number on the back of your OneCard in lieu of getting a separate library card.
Can't access resources at another local library or through Michigan eLibrary catalog (MeLCat)? Through our ILL service the library staff can also order books or copies of articles from other libraries for current Macomb College academic credit students, faculty and staff. Ordered materials typically take 7-14 days to arrive. ILL requests are picked up at the front desk. Most items can be borrowed for three weeks, while photocopies of articles are yours to keep. Please ask a Reference Librarian for further information.
All library computers print to a combined photocopier/printer. Printouts/copies are 10 cents per page for black and white, and 30 cents per page for color. You must first purchase a print/copy card in order to print from the computers or make photocopies.
If you require assistance with purchasing a card, printing from the computers or in making photocopies, library staff are available to help you.

After one renewal, items must be returned to the library before being checked out again.
If you have any other questions not covered here regarding fees, fines or renewals, please call the Library Services staff.

If you have any questions or concerns about library fines and/or fees, please contact the Library Services staff at the campus from which you checked out the materials.
Failure to pay student account balances, including library fines, can result in having a HOLD placed on your student account, which blocks you from registration and obtaining important information such as transcripts.
