The temperature may still be in the 80s, but there are already signs that fall is nearly here. The crickets at night. The chill in the mornings. The Halloween decorations on store shelves.

But nothing really says “fall” like walking through crisp leaves on one of our tree-lined campuses.  Especially if you’re headed to one of the events planned for the semester by us here in the college’s Student Life and Leadership office.

Here is just a sampling of what we’ve lined up:

Aug. 25: Esports Tournament. Compete against fellow students and faculty.  Super Smash Bros. and Rocket League competitions, plus 8 BIT Game competitions. South Campus K Building, Room 301, 6 to 9 pm.

Sept. 13: Macomb Multicultural International Initiatives (MMII) Diversity Day. Come and celebrate the uniqueness of each individual with a soulful performance by the Rev. Robert Jones, fast-paced field games, a parade, ice cream and more! Public welcome. Center Campus 10am-2pm, South Campus 4 -6:30pm; University Center 8-9pm.

Sept. 28: Mid-Autumn Festival. As celebrated in many Asian countries, you’ll create and decorate your own paper lantern and learn the cultural significance of folktales. South Campus K Building, room 251, 11 am to 2 pm.

Oct. 31: Trick-or-Treat on Campus. Several college departments will be giving out treats all day.  Dress up as your favorite Barbie or Ken or come as you are. You’re never too old for Halloween!
