The Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) helps make sure your credits go with you!

We partner with public and private colleges across Michigan to maximize the credits you can transfer.

What does the MTA do?

The MTA helps make sure that the general education courses taken at Macomb are accepted when you transfer – saving you time and money.

How does it work?

Complete at least 30 credits with a minimum 2.0 grade in each course, including:

  • One course in English composition
  • A second course in English composition or communications
  • One course in mathematics (college algebra, statistics or quantitative reasoning)
  • Two courses in social sciences (from two subjects)
  • Two courses in humanities and fine arts (from two subjects, excluding studio and performance classes)
  • Two courses in natural sciences, including one with laboratory experience (from two subjects)
