The Macomb Community College Board of Trustees has finalized the appointment of Lori M. Gonko, Ed.D., as the college’s next president, approving a two-year employment contract that provides for an annual salary of $315,000. She will assume the presidency on July 1, 2026.

Approximately 485 students and their families and friends came together to celebrate their graduation from Macomb Community College at its 114th commencement ceremony on May 7.

Macomb Community College held its 114th commencement on Friday, May 8, with 485 students participating in the ceremony. The college awarded more than 1,100 associate degrees and 140 certificates for the winter semester.

Approximately 25 teams, made up of 105 students from the Middle School Mathematics and Science Technology Center, a half-day STEM program for sixth through eighth graders in Warren Consolidated Schools, participated in the Annual Fluid Power Action Challenge held at Macomb Community College on April 30.

The Macomb Community College Foundation recognized donors, whose generous contributions provide scholarships and program funds that support the college’s students and their success, at the Celebration of Donors and Scholarship Recipients Luncheon. Approximately 200 donors, student recipients and college employees came together to honor donor impact on April 29 at the Lorenzo Cultural Center.
