Macomb’s 2026 youth summer programs include Career Academies, which focus on career discovery and real‑world skill development, and Performing Arts Workshops, which immerse students in theater, music and stage production.

Career Academies and Performing Arts Workshops will run in June and July 

Macomb Community College will offer a variety of summer programs for students in grades 2–12 designed to inspire creativity, build new skills and introduce young learners to future career pathways. From hands-on Career Academies to high‑energy performing arts workshops, these programs give students the opportunity to explore new interests in an engaging and supportive environment.

Macomb’s 2026 summer lineup includes Career Academies, which focus on career discovery and real‑world skill development, and Performing Arts Workshops, which immerse students in theater, music and stage production.

2026 Career Academies

  • Camp Scrubs (June 15-18) Grades 4-8: Students explore health careers including nursing, respiratory therapy, physical and occupational therapy, medical assisting and surgical technology.
  • CSI at the PSI (June 15-17) Grades 9-11: Students learn how forensic experts analyze evidence and solve crimes through hands-on investigative activities.
  • Custom Skateboard Sticker Camp (June 15-18) Grades 4-8: Students design and produce custom skateboard stickers using digital tools and creative design techniques.
  • Entrepreneurship Academy (June 22-25) Grades 4-8: Students learn the fundamentals of launching and managing a business through hands-on projects and creative problem-solving.
  • Macomb CARE Camp – Explore Careers in Therapy (June 22-25) Grades 4-8: This new academy introduces students to occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT), two fast-growing health care fields, through immersive, hands-on activities.
    • OT Track: students begin with pediatric therapy and an overview of the OT profession, followed by mental health and physical rehabilitation interventions.
    • PT Track: Students explore gait and balance training, muscle anatomy, functional assessments and therapeutic modalities such as hot/cold therapy and electrical stimulation.
  • Makerspace Academy (June 29-July 2) Grades 4-8: Students experiment with 3D printing, design tools and creative problem-solving in a collaborative makerspace setting.
  • Media and Communication Arts Academy (July 13-16) Grades 4-8: Students explore digital storytelling, video production and media design.
  • “Kitchen Sink” Art Camp (July 13-16) Grades 4-8: Students explore a wide range of artistic mediums in a creative, exploratory environment.
  • Culinary and Pastry Arts Academy (July 20-23) Grades 4-8: Students learn culinary techniques and pastry fundamentals in a professional kitchen environment.

Career Academies are held on Macomb’s Center Campus in Clinton Township. Fees for the academies are $149. Registration for the Career Academies opens March 15. For more information and to register, visit wce.macomb.edu and select Youth Programs under Personal Enrichment.

2026 Performing Arts Workshops

  • Drama Workshop (June 22-25) Grades 2-3 (9 a.m.-noon) Grades 4–12 (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) Students develop acting skills through theater games, movement, improvisation and story development in a noncompetitive environment. The workshop concludes with an informal showcase.
  • Musical Theatre Workshop (July 6-16) Grades 8-12 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) Students experience the full summer stock theater process, from audition to final performance. This year’s production is “High School Musical”, with two performances on the Macomb Center’s main stage.
  • Tech Theatre Workshop (July 6-18) Grades 7-12 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) Students learn backstage skills including scenic design, lighting, sound and run crew operations. Participants serve as the technical crew for the Musical Theatre Workshop performances.
  • Show Choir Workshop (July 20-24) Grades 4-6 (9 a.m.-noon) Grades 7–12 (9 a.m.–5 p.m.) Students combine singing and choreography, culminating in a high-energy performance on the Macomb Center’s main stage.
  • Intro to Musical Theatre Workshop (July 27-30) Grades 4-7 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) Students build acting, vocal and dance skills and perform a musical revue on the Macomb Center’s main stage. This year’s production is “Broadway JR. Revue: Pure Imagination.”
  • Youth Chorus Workshop (Aug. 24-28) Grades 2-6 Grades 2-4: (9-11 a.m.) Grades 5-6: (11:15 a.m.–1:15 p.m.) Students learn vocal technique, music theory and performance skills, concluding with a showcase for family and friends.

All workshops, unless otherwise noted, will take place at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts on the college’s Center Campus. workshop fees ranging from $125 to $450, depending on grade level and session length.
