Discover Macomb offers prospective students the opportunity to explore what Macomb Community College has to offer
On March 7, 9:30 a.m. - noon, prospective college students and their parents can attend Discover Macomb to learn about the opportunities at Macomb Community College. The event will be held on Macomb’s South Campus in Warren, K Building, Room 301, and will feature breakout sessions, informational tables and campus tours.
Discover Macomb is designed for anyone who may be considering attending Macomb Community College, including dual-enrolled high school students, graduating high school students and those looking to return to college after some time away. It will provide an overview of Macomb’s program offerings, including how they can connect to workforce opportunities, student success resources and student life activities, including:
- Admissions and Outreach
- Arts and Sciences
- Business and Information Technology
- Career Services and other special services
- Engineering and Advanced Technology
- Health and Human Services
- Media and Communication Arts
- Public Service Institute
- Veteran and Military Services
The breakout sessions will include:
- Counseling and advising resources
- Media and Communication Arts, and Engineering and Advanced Technology academic programs
- Health careers, both academic and noncredit programs
- Careers in Media and Communication Arts
Participants may attend multiple sessions. Following the sessions, Macomb staff will offer tours of South Campus. There will be informational tables covering dual enrollment, short-term certificates and student access services. Several of the college’s University Center partners will be available to provide information on completing a bachelor’s degree.
Macomb will also be offering in-depth sessions this spring about specific program areas through Spotlight Nights. This series gives potential students and their families the opportunity to explore high-demand career fields, meet faculty and tour the college’s specialized learning spaces for program areas.
- Health and Human Services: March 19, 7-8:30 p.m., Center Campus, C Building
- Culinary, Business and Information Technology: March 26, 7-8:30 p.m., Center Campus, C Building
- Engineering and Advanced Technology: April 16, 7-8:30 p.m., South Campus, T Building
- Public Service Institute: May 6, 7-8:30 p.m., East Campus
