Lorenzo Cultural Center honors the past and celebrates the present with Day of the Dead program Oct. 30 – Nov. 6
The Lorenzo Cultural Center will host a Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) program Oct. 16 – Nov. 6, featuring a Mexican film festival, workshops and presentations.
Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday honoring loved ones who have passed. In Mexico, people often put on colorful makeup and costumes and participate in parades, parties, songs and dances.
" Mexican arts and traditions are part of the rich cultural tapestry of Macomb County and our broader region,” said William Wood, director of cultural affairs and community engagement at Macomb Community College. “Exploring the diverse traditions and experiences that shape our communities foster a deeper understanding of our neighbors—and of ourselves."
