Popular program helps high school students explore careers

Each summer, Macomb Community College offers high school students the opportunity to explore potential careers in a fun environment through a series of Career Academies. This summer’s nine academies, guided by experts, provide engaging, practical activities, allowing high school students the chance to experience for themselves what their chosen field has to offer and if it is a good match with their skills and interests.

“We love helping students find their passion,” said Aimee Adamski, director, Admissions & Outreach, Macomb Community College. “What better way to begin to consider your future possibilities then testing the waters while you’re still in high school? Macomb’s Career Academies provide a great opportunity for high school students to come on campus to explore and learn more what a career pathway is really like as they begin to think about post-secondary education and training.”

The academies are popular, so early registration is encouraged. The minimum age to participate is 14, excluding the IT Gaming and Computer Programming academies, which require participants to be at least 15, and the Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS Academy, which requires participants to be at least 16.
