Macomb Community College offers programs in advanced vehicle development and production

Information sessions to be held April 29 - May 2

Macomb Community College is hosting information sessions on two automotive programs designed to introduce students to the advanced technology that is required for working in the automotive production and development industry.

Sponsored by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA,) the automotive manufacturing program (AMP) offers students an opportunity to earn while they learn, participating in a paid co-op program while working toward an applied science associate degree in manufacturing technology. Students will develop leadership, problem-solving and communication skills while working one day per week outside the classroom at a FCA manufacturing facility in the Detroit area and earn a FCA certificate in production supervision. Information sessions for the AMP program will be held Monday, April 29, 2 - 3 p.m. and Tuesday, April 30, 6 – 7 p.m. at Macomb Community College’s South Campus, S Building, Room 101.

The automotive technology vehicle development technician program introduces students to working on prototype vehicles, experimental testing and other areas of vehicle development. The associate degree in automotive technology – vehicle development technician program blends aspects of mechanical, electrical and information technology to help prepare students to work in the engineering and development areas of the automotive industry. Information sessions about this program will be held Wednesday, May 1, 10 – 11 a.m. and Thursday, May 2, 6 – 7 p.m. at Macomb Community College’s South Campus, K Building, Room 301S.
