Learn about Macomb Community College pre-apprenticeship training classes at Nov. 14 information session

Eligible applicants can participate in a tuition-free cohort program

Macomb Community College will hold an information session about its pre-apprenticeship training classes that teach foundational skills needed for a skilled trade, apprenticeship or similar work-based learning opportunity.  The free information session will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the John Lewis Center (K Building) on the college’s South Campus in Warren. This session is for courses that begin in January and conclude in May.

Through the Michigan Apprenticeship Program Plus (MAP+), the college offers a tuition-free cohort program for eligible applicants to pursue an Industrial Readiness Certificate that covers shop arithmetic, machine tool blueprint reading, industrial safety and trade-related preparation. Participants can:

  • Earn a nine-credit Industrial Readiness Certificate
  • Complete classes in a short time period with a consistent, compressed schedule
  • Develop workplace skills in communication and critical thinking, as well as enhance resume writing and interviewing techniques
  • Network with hiring employers
