– Tuesday, August 15, 2017 9:00AM

Highlights include special dedication of Delia Rendon-Martin Lobby and performance by “Forbidden Broadway”

The Macomb Community College Foundation will present the fourth annual Comedy & Cocktails, a benefit for the college’s arts and cultural programs, Friday, Sept. 15, at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts and Lorenzo Cultural Center, which are located on the college’s Center Campus in Clinton Township.

Presented by First State Bank, the event gets underway in the Lorenzo Cultural Center at 5:30 p.m. with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction, followed by dinner and dedication of the Delia Rendon-Martin Lobby of the Lorenzo Cultural Center.  Rendon-Martin, who with her late husband opened El Charro Restaurante Mexicano in Fraser and expanded to four locations, is an active local philanthropist. Her generous contributions to the college include an endowed scholarship for Macomb culinary students as well as support for both the Macomb Center and Lorenzo Cultural Center.

At 8 p.m., the event moves to the adjacent Macomb Center for a performance by Forbidden Broadway. The revue parodies musical theatre, particularly Broadway hits, featuring outrageous costumes, hilarious song rewrites and madcap impressions.

Tickets for Comedy & Cocktails are $150 each and include premier seating and an exclusive gift. Purchases of tables of 10 receive a 10 percent discount. To purchase tickets online, visit For more information about the event, contact the foundation at 586.445.7302 or email
