Macomb’s English program is designed to prepare students for transfer to a bachelor's degree program in English or education at a four-year college or university. The associate of arts degree that students earn in this program can be customized to emphasize literature or writing.

It can also serve as a complementary degree to a variety of other bachelor's degrees, programs or professional fields that require written and oral communication, critical thinking, rhetorical and analytical skills, and research abilities.
