What is the Michigan Reconnect scholarship?

Michigan Reconnect is a scholarship program that helps individuals age 25 and older attend community college tuition-free or at a significant discount.

The program covers in-district tuition and mandatory fees for eligible individuals pursuing an associate degree or certificate program.

At Macomb, Michigan Reconnect offers a flexible, affordable pathway to earn a degree or certificate, gain new skills and move into a better-paying, in-demand career.

Who is eligible for a Michigan Reconnect at Macomb?

To qualify for Michigan Reconnect you must:

  • Be at least 25 years old when you apply
  • Have lived in Michigan for at least one year
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Not have already earned an associate or bachelor’s degree


How do I apply for a Michigan Reconnect scholarship?

To apply for a Michigan Reconnect scholarship at Macomb, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to get started.
