Interested in becoming a firefighter? Macomb’s Public Service Institute is offering a part-time, eight-month fire academy beginning Sept. 4. Participants will receive approximately 360 hours of training and will earn 12 college credits. In addition, those who successfully complete the program will earn Fire l & ll certification. Training will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on several Saturdays, with Saturday hours to be determined. You can register for the training July 16 through July 31.
