Ways to Give

Named Restricted Fund

The minimum amount required to create a named annual (non-endowed) scholarship or program fund is $3,000, which can be paid over a two-year period.

A minimum of $1,500 is required to distribute awards to students. Funds are awarded annually until funds are exhausted.

Named Endowed Scholarship Fund

A minimum of $15,000 is required to be fully funded. This can be done through a one-time gift or a pledge over three years. $16,000 is required to fully fund AND award in the next academic year.

Otherwise, awarding will not begin until the first distribution from the endowment occurs.

This is a permanently endowed fund. These funds are invested in accordance with the MCC Foundation's investment policy, and a percentage is used for the program and/or scholarship while the principal remains in perpetuity.

• Securities: Outright gifts of appreciated assets like stocks or bonds may provide a significant tax advantage.
  
  
• Planned Gifts: Designated in will, estate, charitable gift annuity, trust or life insurance.

  Otherwise, please instruct your DAF sponsoring organization to make a grant to the “MCC Foundation” to the designated fund or area of your choice and send to the address above. Contact us at foundation@macomb.edu with further questions.
  
  
• Qualified Charitable Donation from your IRA: A QCD allows individuals 70½ years and older to directly contribute from an IRA to a qualified charity without it counting toward your taxable income. If you are age 73 or older and are required to take an RMD from your traditional IRA, this charitable distribution can satisfy your RMD for the year. To donate from a QCD:
  
  
  • Contact your IRA custodian and request a direct transfer to our organization.
  • Provide them with the following information:

  • Ask your custodian to include your name and contact info with the donation so we can properly acknowledge your gift.

• Matching Gifts: Contact the HR Department where you work to see if your employer will match your donation.

Your gift is tax deductible

The Macomb Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are deductible on your federal tax return and are eligible for State of Michigan tax credits. Please consult your tax advisor for further information.
