Selective admissions is a method designed to identify the most qualified candidates for a limited number of seats in some high-demand healthcare education programs. “Whether it’s to start a new career or advance their current one, the (selective admissions) process is there to help them through, not be an obstacle,” said Andrea Shaw, associate dean of Health and Human Services. “It will take effort and time, so planning is important, but the investment is worth it.”

Undecided about a major? You’re not alone. Many students begin college without knowing exactly what career they want to pursue. And according to Heidi Schall, director of admissions at Macomb, that’s not a setback. “I believe that as long as a student is taking classes that help them explore areas of interest or check off the box for general education requirements, there is no drawback,” she said.
