Macomb University Center open house provides opportunities to explore next steps in earning an advanced degree
The Macomb University Center, located on Macomb Community College’s Center Campus in Clinton Township, is holding an open house on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 4:30-7:30 p.m. Prospective students can learn how to complete an advanced degree through the college’s University Center partners.
During the first hour of the event, attendees can visit partner tables, gather information and connect with Macomb Admissions and Outreach staff. Counselors and advisors will also be available to answer Macomb-specific questions or print unofficial transcripts before students meet with four-year representatives from:
- Central Michigan University
- Ferris State University
- Madonna University
- Michigan State University
- Northwood University
- Oakland University
- Rochester Christian University
- University of Detroit Mercy
- Walsh College
- Wayne State University
Participants will be able to ask partner institutions about transfer agreements with Macomb, coursework they offer at the Macomb University Center and careers their programs offer entry into.
From 5:30-6 p.m., Macomb Admissions and Outreach will present Getting Started, covering everything from admissions and free student resources to the many ways students can fund their education. This is an opportunity to learn what is needed for a strong start at Macomb.
From 6:30-7 p.m., Macomb Career Services will offer Connections to Careers, which will focus on the wide range of resources available to help students explore career options. This includes access to internships, part-time and full-time job opportunities, interview preparation, professional networking guidance and Macomb’s online job database.
Representatives from Macomb’s Veteran & Military Services Office; Counseling and Advising; and Admissions and Outreach will also be on site to assist prospective students. Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! will be available to help with career connections.
The Macomb University Center is located at 43901 University Drive, Clinton Township, MI 48038. Registration is required and free. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. All registered participants will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Macomb Bookstore gift card. Reach out to University Center staff with questions.
