Trustees sworn in, officers elected by Macomb Community College Board of Trustees

Trustees sworn in, officers elected by Macomb Community College Board of Trustees

Trustees Kristi Dean, Shelby Township, and Katherine Bracey Lorenzo, Clinton Township, were re-elected to the Macomb Community College Board of Trustees in the Nov. 8, 2022, general election and were sworn in on Wednesday, Jan. 18.

Macomb Community College trustees are elected through a nonpartisan, countywide election and serve six-year terms without compensation.  The seven-member board sets fiscal and operational policy, and serves as a direct link between the college and community.

The board also held their organizational meeting on Jan. 18, electing officers to serve for the upcoming two years.  Katherine Bracey Lorenzo, Clinton Township, was re-elected as chair. She has been a member of the college’s board since 2017 and is a Macomb Community College professor emeritus of psychology, having served more than 35 years as an administrator and faculty member at the college. Frank Cusumano, Macomb Township, was re-elected as vice chair.  He has been a member of the college’s board since 2012, is a licensed attorney practicing primarily in Macomb County and also serves on the Macomb Township Board of Trustees. Kristi Dean, Shelby Township, was re-elected as secretary. She has been a member of the college’s board since 2017 and is a senior lead analytics developer and adjunct faculty member with several colleges. Roseanne DiMaria, Eastpointe, was re-elected as treasurer. She has been a member of the college’s board since 1999 and is a retired surgical technician.

Trustees Joan Flynn, Warren, Vincent Viviano, Shelby Township, and Shelley Vitale, Macomb Township, round out the seven-member board.

Kristi Dean, re-elected to the college’s board in the Nov. 8, 2022, general election is sworn in to her second term by her mother, Muriel Dean, on Jan. 18, 2023.
