Macomb Community College is celebrating the accomplishments of those graduates completing degree requirements at the end of the winter 2016 semester, to which it is awarding more than 1,600 associate degrees at its 95th commencement on Friday, May 13, 7 p.m., at the Sports & Expo Center on Macomb’s South Campus.

The commencement speaker and recipient of the Most Distinguished Graduate award is John Der-Ghazarian, of St. Clair Shores, who will receive an associate of art degree in psychology. He will be completing his bachelor’s degree in psychology through Rochester College, taking his classes at Macomb’s University Center.  He then plans to enter the seminary with the hopes of being ordained a Byzantine Catholic priest.

“I’ve followed my father’s advice ‘to put everything you have into everything you do,’” Der-Ghazarian said. “That’s the message I hope to leave with my fellow graduates at the commencement ceremony.”
