Macomb Community College is celebrating the accomplishments of those graduates completing degree requirements at the end of the fall 2015 semester, to which it is awarding more than 930 associate degrees at its 94th commencement on Friday, Dec. 18, 7 p.m., at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts on Macomb’s Center Campus.

The commencement speaker and recipient of the Most Distinguished Graduate award is Alexander Witan, of Sterling Heights, who will be graduating from the Macomb Police Academy and will be receiving an associate of applied science in law enforcement. Witan began his educational career at Macomb in the Early Admit program, which allowed him to take college courses while still in high school. While attending Macomb, Witan tutored Vietnamese students and helped his sister train to enter the U.S. Marines training program. He also worked as a dispatcher at the Center Campus Public Safety Office through the student work study program. Witan has accepted a position with the Roseville Police Department. He aspires to become a U.S. deputy.
