Macomb Community College celebrates 91st commencement on May 16

Macomb Community College is celebrating the accomplishments of those graduates completing degree requirements at the end of the winter 2014 semester, to which it is awarding nearly 1,600 associate degrees at its 91st commencement on Friday, May 16, 7 p.m., at the Macomb Sports & Expo Center on its South Campus in Warren.

The commencement speaker and recipient of the Most Distinguished Graduate award will be Stephanie McFarlin, 20, of Warren, who will be receiving  an associate of general studies degree.  While attending Macomb, McFarlin volunteered as a student ambassador and served as president of the Spanish Club. She plans to attend Macomb for one more year to complete prerequisite courses before transferring to Walsh College to earn a bachelor of accountancy degree, with the objective of becoming a certified public accountant. McFarlin anticipates completing her bachelor-degree coursework at the Macomb University Center, located on the college’s Center Campus in Clinton Township. Walsh College is one of 12 senior educational institutions that offer bachelor-degree completion and advanced degrees at the Macomb University Center.
