Commemorative bricks to highlight walkway of redesigned entrance into Macomb Community College’s South Campus
Proceeds benefit college’s student success programs

As Macomb Community College begins renovations to improve student access from 12 Mile Road into the campus, a commemorative brick campaign is being rolled out to honor those connected to the college while providing support to important programs that assist current students.

Bricks will line the walkway leading to a newly designed entrance facing 12 Mile Road, between D and E buildings, on the college’s South Campus.  For a limited time, bricks can be purchased for $60 each and inscribed with up to three lines of text, providing the opportunity for individuals to celebrate their time at Macomb, honor a loved one, recognize a graduate or highlight their company.  More than 70 percent of the cost of each brick will be used for Macomb’s student success programs, such as emergency needs funding and veterans services, which provide assistance in helping students persevere through challenges to earning a degree.

Bricks ordered by May 30, 2014, will be installed prior to the grand opening of the new South Campus entrance on the college’s 60th anniversary, September 16, 2014.

“Whether you are an alum, retiree, employee, patron of our arts and culture programs or friend of the college, you have been integral to shaping the Macomb Community College of today,” said Casandra Ulbrich, vice president, College Advancement and Community Relations.  “Now, you can be part of Macomb’s future as well by investing not only in a lasting tribute through an inscribed brick, but also investing in the success and future of our current students.”
