Emergency Medical Services - Paramedic/Firefighter Program

Combining paramedic and fire academy training, Macomb’s Paramedic/Firefighter Program will teach you how to provide emergency medical treatment to victims at fire and accident scenes and provide firefighting support. In the paramedic portion of your training, you will learn basic to advanced life support, preparing you to take the Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry EMT state licensing exam. In the fire academy, you will learn basic fire suppression, prevention procedures and firefighting skills, preparing you for the state certification exam for firefighters.

If you are an EMT applying to the Paramedic/Firefighter Program, you must complete the Paramedic Petition Form and submit the form along with a copy of your EMT license and transcripts to us by June 1 for the following fall start-up.
