A General Business curriculum provides a broad and generalized approach to business education so that students can choose and succeed in the business that interests them most. With a focus on core business skills, including management, marketing, finance, accounting and communications, General Business prepares students for a wide range of career possibilities.

Macomb’s General Business Program gives you the opportunity to tailor your coursework to meet your own specific interests and educational goals. In addition to required courses that will provide you with a solid foundation in General Business, you may also choose to specialize and earn skill specific certificates in International Business or Global Supply Chain Management by taking additional courses.

Career Opportunities with an Associate of Business Administration Degree or Certificate in General Business, or a Skill Specific Certificate in International Business or Supply Chain Management

With an Associate of Business Administration (ABA) Degree or Certificate in General Business or a Skill Specific Certificate in International Business or Supply Chain Management, you will be qualified for positions that include business operations specialist, management and manager.

Transfer Pathways to a Bachelor’s in Business Administration Degree

The credits earned in Macomb’s General Business Program transfer to many colleges and universities in Michigan.

If you intend to transfer and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA), speak with a Macomb counselor or academic advisor as soon as possible after you have applied to Macomb to plan the best pathway.

Occupational Certificate in Business

Macomb’s Workforce and Continuing Education Department offers certificate programs in business that may be earned in six months or less. These can provide you with a gateway into a business career and the option of earning a salary in a business-related position while you pursue further education, training and/or certification in General Business.
