Services

The Macomb Regional PTAC staff are trained contracting specialists that will help you obtain the most current and relevant information available, provide insight into the research process and coach you through the government contracting process, from start to finish. To do this, we offer support and services in the areas listed below.

One-On-One Counseling

One of our most requested services, one-on-one business counseling, provides an opportunity to address specific client issues such as: applications and registrations, marketing strategies, bid preparation assistance, subcontracting opportunities, pre-award survey preparation, quality requirements, contract modifications, electronic commerce, and troubleshooting.

PTAC BidMatch

Macomb Regional PTAC can help you find government advertised bidding opportunities through our web based bid-matching service. Working with your CPC counselor, you will develop a search profile (keywords) that will be used to search for open bidding opportunities and contract awards advertised on Federal Business Opportunities and more than 3,259 other federal, state, and local government procurement websites. You will be provided a Web link where you can access search results for the last 20 business days.  To ensure that you see only those bids you are interested in, we help you develop search profiles that contain keywords, North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes, Product Service Codes (PSC/FSCs), National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and  State Contracting National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) codes.

Government Registrations

Macomb Regional PTAC assists with System for Award Management (SAM) registration, State of Michigan Vendor Registration, or any other governmental contracting registrations.

Pre- and Post-Award Assistance

We can help you review opportunities as well as your response/offer to ensure you are addressing all the necessary information in the correct format and understanding the impact of the government FAR clauses. Macomb Regional PTAC also provides post-win assistance to businesses to ensure a contract is successfully completed. This can be in the form of WAWF/IRAPT and or any invoicing/billing issues, DCMA audit guidance and Contract Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) or Past Performance Information Retrieval System.

 Subcontracting Assistance

The Federal government has a legislated policy that includes goals for small business and certified socio-economic business. These small businesses shall have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate in the performance of Federal contracts.  All Federal contractors who receive contracts valued at $700,000 (or $1,500,000 for construction) are required to have a subcontracting plan. Macomb Regional PTAC can assist you in navigating through the subcontracting opportunities that are right for you.

Procurement/Price History

Past procurement activity can help you determine if your price is competitive in relation to previous contract winners and provide potential subcontracting opportunities. Macomb Regional PTAC can provide the federal purchase history of your product, including information about agencies that purchased your product, volume of product bought, contract award amount and who held previous contracts.

Training and Seminars

Macomb Regional PTAC provides informative training seminars about timely contracting issues, and the latest procurement guidelines. Our educational events are also an excellent way to connect with other local businesses. We offer a core set of classes that are developed and instructed by our counselors.  We also offer special events that feature industry experts. And we offer events that allow businesses to network with Federal, State and Local government agencies.  Our schedule is developed and issued annual.

The Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) was authorized by Congress in 1985 in an effort to expand the number of businesses capable of participating in the government marketplace. Administered by the Department of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the program provides matching funds through cooperative agreements with state and local governments and nonprofit organizations for the establishment of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) to provide procurement assistance
