President’s Message

Dear Students,

I applaud your decision to not give up on college during these challenging times. The pandemic has disrupted every aspect of our lives, and it takes courage and resilience to persevere despite the uncertainty we are all facing.

In some ways, Fall Semester 2020 at Macomb will be like no other. Most students will be “attending” class online for the semester, and we will continue to provide a full line-up of student services primarily virtually. The campus experience for those who do return to campus for necessary labs will look very different, with small groups of students convening in reconfigured spaces that accommodate social distancing and following new safety protocols that include daily self-assessments and the wearing of face coverings.

However, even though we have had to shift how we do things to protect your health and safety, our commitment to provide you with quality learning experiences and the support you need to be successful remains unchanged. Macomb’s Virtual Campus provides a streamlined directory of information and the resources to assist you in having a successful semester.

I admire your resolve to forge ahead in building a strong future. Please remember that we are here to support you in achieving your goals.

Dr. Jim Sawyer
