Information sessions highlight Macomb Community College training opportunities for in-demand advanced manufacturing jobs

– Wednesday, May 27, 2015 12:00AM

Two upcoming information sessions will provide an overview of training opportunities available at Macomb Community College for high-demand positions such as computer numerical control (CNC) machinist, welder, computer-aided designer, control robotics technician, production operator, quality control technician and mechatronics/multi-skilled technician.

Those who are unemployed, displaced workers or veterans may qualify for free training, which is funded by a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration. The program is part of the Michigan Coalition for Advanced Manufacturing, an alliance of eight community colleges led by Macomb to train displaced workers to fill jobs available in the growing advanced manufacturing sector.

Information sessions will be held at both Macomb’s South Campus in Warren and Center Campus in Clinton Township.

  • South Campus:  Wednesday, June 10, 6 – 8 p.m., at the John Lewis Student Community Center (K Building), Room 324, 14500 E. 12 Mile Road, Warren.  For a campus map, click here.
