Macomb Community College Foundation hosts Comedy & Cocktails fundraising gala on October 10

Event featuring dinner, auction and private performance by the Capitol Steps will benefit the college’s arts and cultural programming

The Macomb Community College Foundation will host Comedy & Cocktails, a fundraising gala to support the college’s arts and cultural programming, on Friday, October 10.  Presented by First State Bank, the event will feature a private performance by the political satire group, The Capitol Steps.   The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a strolling dinner, silent auction and raffle in the Lorenzo Cultural Center, followed by the performance at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts.  

The college provides robust cultural arts and enrichment opportunities through the Macomb Center and Lorenzo Cultural Center.   The Macomb Center presents high-quality professional performances, offers educational outreach in the arts and provides a performance venue for community-based arts organizations.  The Lorenzo Cultural Center explores the influences and experiences that shape our community’s heritage, creating interactive learning opportunities for all ages, and has drawn more than 100,000 visitors since its opening in 2006.   Combined, both venues attract more than 100,000 visitors each year.
