Applied Technology and Apprenticeship


Combining on-the-job training with classroom and lab instruction, employer-sponsored apprenticeships and other industrial training programs prepares you for a highly skilled position in a variety of industrial and construction trades, and skilled professions. Upon completion of one of Macomb’s Applied Technology Apprenticeship programs, you will receive both a U.S. Department of Labor certificate and a Macomb Community College certificate.

Macomb’s Workforce and Continuing Education Department, Engineering and Advanced Technology, also offers certificate programs that may be earned in six months or less. These can provide you with a gateway into a career and the option of earning a salary while you pursue further education, training and/or certification.

With an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Applied Technology and/or an Apprenticeship certificate, you will be qualified for the following positions based on the Apprenticeship program that you have chosen: 

Transfer Pathways

Credits earned in Macomb’s Applied Technology and Apprenticeship program transfer to many colleges and universities in Michigan and may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program.     

If you intend to transfer and pursue advanced degrees in Applied Technology or another field, speak with a Macomb counselor or academic advisor as soon as possible after you have applied to Macomb to plan the best pathway.
