Macomb Community College continues to closely monitor the developments of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. It was first identified in December 2019 in China and has spread to other countries, including the United States.

If you have recently traveled to China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, or were on a cruise ship since the travel advisory took effect on February 24, 2020, please contact the Dean of Students (deanofstudents@macomb.edu) and your instructor(s) to make arrangements for continuing your coursework, and stay home and self-monitor for 14 days, https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/ 2019-ncov/travelers/after-travel-precautions.html.

Additional information can be found on the college's website: https://www.macomb.edu/about-macomb/coronavirus/index.html.

Please also continue prevention efforts by following the CDC guidelines: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/2019-ncov-factsheet.pdf.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • If you're not feeling well, stay home from work or school.
