Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship: a free community resource

Our vision is to develop a culture of entrepreneurship in which students and residents are inspired and motivated to explore and act upon their innovative ideas.  We are committed to maintaining a vital hub of resources the community can rely upon for entrepreneurial education and assistance, all aimed at increasing an entrepreneur’s chances of launching their own business.

Meet the entrepreneurs from our 3rd annual Student Pitch Competition

Congratulations to the Macomb students who participated in our 3rd annual Business Pitch Competition! Over 40 entries were narrowed down to five finalists who presented to an enthusiastic crowd. The 1st place winner, Jennifer Georgievski, is the founder of a veterans advocacy group called Round the US that makes and sells keychains from used bullet casings and donates a portion of the proceeds to local veterans groups. Georgievski, a military veteran who started the company through a class at Macomb, will receive $3,000 to develop her business. Jennie Nelson won second prize for her line of aromatherapy jewelry called Precisely Polka Dots, and third place went to Mitch Kusza’s cooking infusion concept, Vege-Fuse. Congratulations to all of the rising entrepreneurs who shared their ideas and thank you to our esteemed panel of judges for sharing their time and talent!
