Media and Communication Arts – Design & Layout Program

Great design is serious, not solemn.
-Paula Scher, Grammy-Nominated Graphic Designer, Author and Educator

What is Design & Layout?

Design & Layout is a skill that combines creativity with technological knowhow. It provides a unique identity and look to every page in a magazine or on a website, as well as to ads, posters, books and brochures. When paired effectively together, Design & Layout communicates a message beyond the words and images it contains. It creates a mood, conveys a tone, defines a brand and organizes a visual plane using typography, images and white space.
