Macomb Community College will celebrate the accomplishments of its summer and fall graduates, to which it is awarding approximately 1,131 associate degrees, at its 78th commencement on Friday, Dec. 14, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts on Center Campus.

The Most Distinguished Graduate is Christine Anderson, of Warren, who will deliver the commencement address. Anderson was selected for the honor based on her academic accomplishments, nomination by a faculty member, written essay and an interview with a selection committee. She is graduating from Macomb with an associate of arts degree in business administration and intends to transfer to Walsh College to earn a bachelor's degree in business.

Cheering Anderson on from the audience during commencement will be her husband Jim Anderson, a branch manager for Flagstar Bank, daughter Melissa, a graduate student in English literature at Oakland University, and son Corey, an engineering student at Macomb.
