Macomb Women's Volleyball Ranked 12th in Nation

Macomb Community College's women's volleyball team is currently ranked 12th in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), moving up from an 18th place ranking in the preseason poll.

Macomb's overall record is 16-10 and is currently in first place in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association with a 4-0 record.

Sophomore middle blocker Lauren Mallast (New Baltimore/Anchor Bay) currently leads the nation in total blocks with 121 through 66 games and ranks second in the nation with an average of 1.833 blocks per game.

Sophomore outside hitter Sarha Gosselin (Warren/Lincoln), a second team All-American selection as a freshman, currently ranks third in the nation with a total of 92 blocks. Gosselin also ranks sixth in the NJCAA with 253 kills, 13th with 44 aces through 66 games and 18th with a hitting efficiency rating of 42.05 percent. .
