Macomb Program Aids Adults in Times of Transition

Release Date:
July 11, 2008

Adults experiencing a major transition in their life because of divorce, illness, the death of a spouse or the loss of a job have much to gain from a program offered by Macomb Community College.

Transition to Triumph is a series of support classes that cover a variety of issues and challenges faced by those whose lives have recently undergone a significant change. Classes can help participants master coping mechanisms, improve self-confidence, polish communications skills, acknowledge change, redefine roles, and identify and enhance employable skills. Participants will also be assisted in establishing educational, career and financial goals.

Transition to Triumph offers two format options: an all-day class offered twice a week for six weeks or an evening-only class offered twice a week for 12 weeks. Classes are held at Macomb's South Campus, 12 Mile and Hayes roads in Warren, and at its Center Campus, Hall and Garfield roads in Clinton Township. Those interested must pre-register and plan to attend one of the following intake sessions based on their choice of class format and location:

South Campus Days
Thursday, Aug. 7, 1 to 4 p.m., for classes meeting Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 8 – Oct. 15, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
