Classes ranging in diversity from ceramics to motorcycle safety and from event planning to foreign language are featured in the fall lineup of offerings from Macomb Community College’s Center for Continuing Education.
The classes are offered in a variety of formats, and classes begin at various times over the next several months.
Many of the classes focus on job-related skills, such as a new class created in conjunction with the Michigan Dementia Coalition designed for direct care workers or families dealing with dementia. In addition, other classes are offered for personal enrichment, such as a new class on how to perform simple magic tricks.
“We find many people taking one or more classes in order to learn a new skill to help them land a job in a new career field or to gain a promotion in their current field,” said Fran Sturtz, director of continuing education at the college. “Many classes fill up quickly, so I always encourage people to register early.”
While most of the classes are taught in traditional classroom sessions, some are offered in an online format, such as a new class on renewable energy and a wide variety of classes aimed at teachers.
