Colleges team up to provide access to IT careers

Release Date:
January 11, 2008

With a nod to the increasing demand for Information Technology (IT) professionals, Macomb Community College and Walsh College are offering current and prospective students an opportunity to explore the possibilities on Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Macomb University Center.

At the Information Technology Career Exploration Night, representatives from both colleges will be on hand to discuss the associate and bachelor's degree programs in IT offered at their respective schools. An agreement between the two allows students to transfer up to 82 credits earned at Macomb to Walsh toward a bachelor of science degree in information technology, which constitutes a significant savings in tuition.

Those attending will also hear about career opportunities available from employers who are hiring in the field and have the chance to talk with some current Macomb and Walsh students about their educational experiences in the two schools' IT programs.

The Macomb University Center is located on Macomb's Center Campus, Garfield and Hall roads, in Clinton Township. Registration is at 6:45 p.m., with the program beginning at 7 p.m. Reservations are requested and may be made online at gravesc@macomb.edu or by calling 1.866.Macomb1.
