Macomb Community College accepts applications for Adjunct (part-time) Faculty positions on an on-going basis. When adjunct faculty assignments become available, the hiring department will review the applications and contact the candidates they are interested in interviewing.
Requirements for adjunct teaching of Liberal Arts and Sciences courses are a master's degree in subject matter directly related to the position being filled, or a master's degree in another field and twenty graduate semester hours in the discipline (which may be part of the master's degree course work), or thirty graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline as a part of a program leading to a degree higher than a master's degree.
Requirements for adjunct teaching of Occupational Education (Business, Health and Human Services, Public Service and Technology) courses are a master's degree in subject matter directly related to the position being filled, or a combination of formal education, specialized training and recent experience which equates to a master's degree. Teachers of courses that are designed to present and develop occupational skills shall have at least two (2) years of experience in the occupations area concerned. Teachers of certain Business, Culinary & Hospitality, Health & Human Services, Information Technology and Public Service courses must also possess specific Course Competencies.
