SPANISH PLACEMENT

Spanish 1270 Placement Exam is available for students who have expertise in Spanish and would like to test out of SPAN 1260 and be placed into SPAN 1270. This exam is available on a walk-in basis at Macomb Community College's Learning Centers. Students must present photo identification to take this examination. After completing the Spanish 1270 Placement Exam for the first time, should the student not meet the necessary requirements, there is a 24 hour waiting period before the test can be repeated. The exam can only be administered twice per semester.  The passing score is 69 correct questions out of 92, for a minimum passing score of 75%.

Note: Students who successfully complete the SPAN 1270 Placement Exam will not receive college credit for SPAN 1260. Individuals that have a Spanish background and would like to receive credit for their knowledge should consider taking the CLEP Spanish exam or complete a Credit for Prior Learning portfolio. Counseling can help you determine which option is the best for you.
