STUDENT ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Philosophy Statement

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee at Macomb Community College strives to unite the student-athletes and the administration by encouraging involvement in activities as well as community service.


Purpose

  • To receive the student athletes perspective on issues with athletes.
  • A leadership group that encourages unity between teams and among all student athletes.
  • Organizes campus and community service efforts in order to bring Macomb Community College core values to the community.
  • Encourage Macomb Community College student body to support athletic events on campus.

The S.A.A.C. consists of student-athletes from the various athletic programs at Macomb Community College. The S.A.A.C. will be participating in several community related events throughout the year.

CAMPUS MINISTRY GIFT DISTRIBUTION

SAAC Christmas

On Wednesday, December 15, 2007, several S.A.A.C. members donated gifts to underpriveleged kids in Macomb County.

This annual event is also sponsored by Macomb's Campus Ministry and Minister, Tom Salas.

VOLUNTEER READING PROGRAMS

Throughout March and April, S.A.A.C members will be visiting several area schools to read to elementary aged children.

SOUP KITCHEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Throughout March and April, S.A.A.C. members will be volunteering at the Cappucino Soup Kitchen in Detroit.
