FINANCIAL AID PAYMENTS FOR WINTER 2009

Financial aid pays to your account 10 days before the start date of each class. Payments for financial aid will not be made until you have received an official financial aid award letter from the Macomb Community College Financial Aid Office.

The first payments to your account will be made on January 6, 2009.

Balance checks for refunds of excess financial aid will be issued starting February 2, but only for classes that start in January.

If you have classes that start in February, March or April, the financial aid payments for those classes will be 10 days before the class start date. Please note: Your full financial aid will not pay until all of your classes have started. For example, if you have 12 credit hours, 6 starting in January and 6 starting in February, you will only receive ½ time financial aid (for 6 credit hours) to pay your January classes; the remaining ½ time financial aid (for the other 6 credit hours) will not pay until February.

Attention Transfer Students: Financial aid does not automatically transfer from school to school. If you are transferring to Macomb Community College from a previous college, you will need to have the results of your FAFSA sent to Macomb, federal code number 008906.

If you were sent a letter requesting documents/forms to complete your financial aid application, or if the letter requested you to do something to complete your application, you must turn in your documents as quickly as possible.

Do not wait until the last minute to turn in forms. This will only cause a delay in processing and you won’t have funds to pay for your classes or buy your books.
