AM I ELIGIBLE?

 

In general, a student is considered eligible for financial aid if the student:

  1. Demonstrates financial need based on the results of the family’s financial situation as reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  2. Is enrolled as a regular student in a degree or certificate program or transfer to a four-year college. (Guest students cannot receive any financial aid. Exception: Guest students can only receive financial aid the Michigan Competetive Scholarship Michigan Tuition Incentive (TIP) and Michigan Merit/Michigan Promise Scholarship programs.
  3. Is a high school graduate, has a GED or demonstrates the ability to benefit from his/her educational program, based on standard test scores determined by the U. S. Department of Education.
  4. Is a U. S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  5. Is not in default on a federal Title IV student loan nor owes a repayment on a federal Title IV student grant previously received.
  6. Is making Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy, as defined by Macomb Community College.
  7. Is male and registered with the Selective Service between the ages of 18 and 25, as required by law.
  8. Has not already earned a bachelor’s degree (Federal Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, State and institutional awards are only awarded to students who do not have a bachelor’s degree).
