Due to an increased volume in financial aid requests, it may take up to 6 weeks for the student's file to be processed.  Students must respond to requests for information immediately upon receipt to avoid delays.

Student Refund Information
After all of the student's Macomb tuition charges are paid, any financial aid credit balance/refund that remains on the account will be refunded to the student in the form of an electronic payment.  All students awarded financial aid (this includes grants, scholarships and loans) and registered for credit class(es) will be sent a Macomb Debit Card

STATE FUNDING UPDATE

The State legislature, pursuant to P. A. 132 of 2009, did not provide funding for the Michigan Promise Scholarship for the current fiscal year 2009-10. Therefore, all Promise payments for all class years, beginning with the Class of 2007, are suspended. Students who are Promise qualifiers will not receive funds for this academic year. Funding for future years is uncertain at this time.

Students who are previous Michigan Merit Award recipients will receive their remaining eligible payments, as prescribed in the program regulations.

In addition, funding for the following financial aid programs was eliminated or reduced for the 2009-10 academic year:

Michigan Educational Opportunity Grant (eliminated)

Michigan Adult Part-time Grant (eliminated)

Michigan Nursing Scholarship (eliminated)

Michigan Competitive Scholarship (reduced)

 

 

TUITION INCENTIVE PROGRAM STUDENTS

If you received Tuition Incentive Program (TIP) benefits in a previous semester and did not enroll fall, 2009, you must contact the Financial Aid Office if you plan to enroll winter, 2010 and want to use your TIP benefits. Be sure to do this at least one week prior to the payment deadline date.

SCHOLARSHIP CHECKS

If students receive a scholarship from an organization, club or other donor, the check should be submitted to the Financial Aid Office for processing as soon as received. Be sure to send the check at least one week prior to when your payment is due to be sure the funds are processed before the payment deadline date.
