NEWMAN CLUB

The Newman Club is named for Cardinal John Henry Newman, college student, renown scholar, and professor. He believed that "...light is only given to us gradually, bit by bit, but that we are always given enough to see what we have to do next..." During his years at the Catholic University of Ireland, his presence was a guiding light to students and all those committed to higher education. He died in 1890.

The Newman Club is a MCC student community group. Although Catholic by its roots, membership is open to all MCC students regardless of religious background or affiliation. Our purpose is to build community among students, to help foster student leadership, to promote personal and spiritual growth, to provide opportunities for volunteer service and to encourage the formation of values consistent with our Christian faith.

At present, the Newman Club is inactive, but not forgotten. Any and all students interested in reactivating the club should contact Tom Salas in the Office of Leadership and Spirituality, South Campus, 586-445-7378.
