In the event of a crisis situation involving an emergency that requires professional and immediate intervention, campus police should first be contacted.

However, if any person, student, faculty or staff are distressed and simply need a listening ear, someone who won't judge them but will listen with compassion and, when appropriate, refer the individual to other competent professionals, then campus ministry can be of help in that kind of situation, (e.g. community services agencies, shelters, food pantries, etc.).
