Add/Drop a Class
The date for adding and/or dropping a class is dependent upon the start date of the class. Dates are posted on WebAdvisor, search for sections or on the students registration statement.
If you add/drop a class after the official start of classes for the term, you run the risk of financial loss due to timing issues.
Class Withdrawal
It is the responsibility of the student, not the instructor, to withdraw from a class. Students may withdraw by one of the following methods:
1. WebAdvisor
2. Tel-Reg 586.445.7373
3. Fax a copy of the completed withdrawal form to Enrollment Services
4. In Person: Center Campus G-120, South Campus G-310
Students who never attend classes shall receive an N symbol for that term.
Students who officially withdraw the first three-quarters (3/4) of a term shall receive a W symbol for that semester/trimester.
Students may not offically withdraw during the last quarter (1/4) of the term, but shall only be given an A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C C-, D+, D, D-, E, I or P/F.
Special Withdrawal
Exception to the withdrawal policy may be made by the College under special circumstances, but only after documentation by the student and verification by the College. All petitions must be filed before the end of the term and petitions for exception to the withdrawal policy must must be directed to the Director of Enrollment Services/Registrar (Credit Voucher Request-Special Refund Form) who will consult with the appropriate institutional administrator and/or faculty member before making a final decision.
Mobility
Students who find themselves enrolled in a class which proves to be too difficult or too basic for their skills should change classes during the Add/Drop period at the beginning of the term. Please see the Mobility Policy for specific mobility dates. If approvals are required from the department, they must be obtained during business hours, Monday through Friday. Please refer to the Directory of Academic Departments within the class schedule.
*Mobility enables the student to move from one level of a course to another, i.e.: MATH-0070 to MATH-1000 or MATH-1000 to MATH-0070.
