The purpose of this program is to create a bridge to college and career awareness for a specific student population - The At-Risk student.
In partnership with the Michigan Department of Career Development, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Macomb has offered a program for at-risk high school students in the county. Last year’s program included students from 15 different high schools, each having the opportunity to
- identify their career interests
- observe actual college classes
- set realistic goals for career options
- discuss college readiness strategies
- learn about various college resources for at-risk students
These programs are available at no cost to your school. For the 2006-2007 school year, Macomb conducted eight sessions for a total of 121 at-risk high school students.
