IT - NETWORKING

Networking facilitates communications between people, computers, and various technology devices.  Networking students may specialize in two degree areas – Networking Administration and Cisco Networking.

Network Administrators design, install, and maintain computer hardware and software that comprise a computer network.  Network software controls the functions of the network hardware.  Network software manages the routing of electronic messages and it controls the authentication and access authorizations of people and hardware who attempt to share in the data and messages that traverse the computer network.

Cisco Networking is a special educational program developed and guided by the Cisco Corporation.  Cisco is the leading networking hardware manufacturer in the world.  Cisco has developed a rigorous and well-structured training program referred to as the Cisco Academy.  This training program is designed to prepare students to successfully complete the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
