VOLLEYBALL COACHING STAFF

 

Terri Szur- Head Coach

Terri-Szur.JPG Terri Szur starts her first season as Head Volleyball Coach at Macomb Community College. Szur graduated from the University of Michigan with her Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Education. While at U of M, Szur played one year of Basketball and Softball. She also played one year of Basketball at Western Michigan University.

Szur brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Macomb. Szur has over 16 years of Volleyball coaching experience at Anchor Bay High School. While at Anchor Bay, she has had over 20 athletes receive scholarships to play volleyball at the collegiate level. Szur led her Anchor Bay team to the 1997 District Championship. In addition to their '97 District Championship, Szur followed up by leading her team to the 2001 MAC White League Championship..At the conclusion of the 2001 season, Szur was named Coach of the Year.  

Szur has served as President of MCVCA for 10 years and has also served as a Member of the Executive Board for the MIVCA for 10 years.

Szur is currently a Teacher of Computer Science and Physical Education at Anchor Bay High School.



Tamara Fant- Assistant Coach

Tamara-Fant.JPG Tamara Fant enters her first season as an assistant coach at Macomb. 

Following a three year varsity career at Anchor Bay High School, Tamara attended Central Michigan University on a volleyball scholarship.  In 2003, she helped lead the Chippewas to the MAC West Divisional championship and finished the season ranked 19th in the nation in hitting percentage.  Fant also set a CMU record when she notched a .750 hitting percentage in a league match. 

In addition to her impressive playing career, Coach Fant has worked with 14-under and 16-under aged players with BAVA volleyball club.



Holly Plieth- Assistant Coach

Holly-Plieth.JPG Holly Plieth enters her first season as an assistant coach at Macomb.

Plieth was a four year varsity player for Cousino High Schools volleyball team.  While at Cousino, she earned All-Macomb and All-MAC League honors. Upon graduation she played two years for Macomb, where she led the team in blocks, before transferring to Wayne State University to complete her career. 

Before coming to Macomb, Plieth coached high school volleyball at Lakeshore High School and served as the Oakland area coordinator for USA-MI Volleyball Club. 

Plieth is married and has two step-daughters (Kennedy & Jillian) with her husband Jim.
